I wish you were here instead of working in sunny San Diego.
I wish you were here helping me get the girls up and ready for school in the morning.
I wish you were here for comic relief when the girls get upset as I brush the knots out of their hair.
I wish you were here to get my car started in the bitter cold.
I wish you were here to kiss your baby girl good-bye as she heads off to school.
I wish you were here to take your oldest girl to school so I can get to work a little bit earlier.
I wish you were here to wash the dishes that just keep piling up.
I wish you were here to take out the trash and bring in the cans on garbage day.
I wish you were here to talk with me about my day.
I wish you were here to help me solve the girl drama with our third grader.
I wish you were here to help with homework, even though you often get frustrated.
I wish you were here to tuck in the girls and kiss them good night.
I wish you were here to remind me to be the Tooth Fairy tonight after the girls fall asleep.
I wish you were here to enjoy an episode of General Hospital, our guilty pleasure.
I wish you were here to cuddle with under a warm blanket on this very cold night.
I wish you were here to whisper good night as I drift off soon after starting General Hospital on the DVR.
I wish you were here instead of working in sunny San Diego. Sunday cannot come soon enough.
Aww, Kelly! I wish he was home too. This is beautiful!
Stupid Sunny San Diego! This is so perfect. The repetition works so well and hits home your piece. I wish he was home too!
I know what you mean. My husband travels a lot, and I’m always wishing he were here. Usually natural and man-made disasters occur when he is out of town. Why would anyone take San Diego over snow? Hang in there, Sunday is just around the corner now!
When my kids were little we always celebrated the mornings Daddy was coming home with “breakfast” out. Usually a doughnut in the car! Stay strong!
I am going to do this with my girls now! Thanks for the idea!
This is heartbreaking. Hang in there!!
I feel like that when my husband is only gone for a few hours! Sorry for you!
I bet he’s wishing he was with all of girls. Sunny San Diego probably has nothing on all of you.
I love your repetition and your honesty in this piece. Sunday will come soon enough!
Two more days!!!
Absence makes the heart grow fonder – you really know how important someone is when they are gone from you, don’t you? Nice slice!
